Valentine’s Day

Wishing y’all a very happy Valentine’s Day!  My sweetie is on a rig in the middle of nowhere, New Mexico tonight.  We’ll see each other again next week, and I’m sure we’ll celebrate then.

My husband’s second home – a very high performing drilling rig

It’s been a good week for me here at home. I’ve recently started a new business!  Mirmade Treats LLC is accepting local orders for sweets!  Feel free to contact me via  I am insured, getting my license soon, and am working on getting a permit. I’ve always loved to bake/cook and so I’m having fun with this new little adventure. We will wait and see where it goes – if anywhere! 🙂

My brownies – dark chocolate, European butter, and vanilla

I’m trying to keep it dialed back to just two days per week for now.  I want to spend time with our little boy, Jack, while I can.

My traditional French chocolate mousse – Belgian chocolate, butter, Grand Marnier

I made candied orange peel as garnish for the mousse pots

I played around with some choux dough and made these poufs for a client. Fluffy pastry filled with vanilla pastry cream and topped with a chocolate ganache.

I appreciate all the business I received this week and the interest in my baked goods. I’m also contracting for Angi’s Eats and Sweets, a local caterer and lunch hot spot/food truck.  I worked for Angi in the early 2000s when I was in high school, now 20 years later so it feels natural to be back beside her again. Her and her husband’s food is always so good!

Some of my goodies for sale in Angi’s cold case

Never too old for a good old fashioned Valentine in the mail! Loved getting this.

3. Give without sparing. (Proverbs 21:26)
4. Pray without ceasing. (Colossians 1:9)
5. Answer without arguing. (Proverbs 17:1)
6. Share without pretending. (Ephesians 4:15)
7. Enjoy without complaint. (Philippians 2:14)
8. Trust without wavering. (Corinthians 13:7)
9. Forgive without punishing. (Colossians 3:13)
10. Promise without forgetting. (Proverbs 13:12)
I’m going to try to apply these verses to not only my hubby, but everyone!  Easier said than done.

    Hi Miranda!

I love all your baking, and your posts! You are one talented lady. I had a dream like this once – a bakery. But didn’t have the support I needed to make it happen. Go with it!!! You are bringing something new to our area. It is needed. I love your writing too. One day maybe we will sit down with a cup of coffee.
