My friend, Charlotte, and I set out yesterday morning for a little treasure hunting. We went to an estate sale south of town. Here is what we found, and my inspiration:

I got this antique brass bed for Jack!
Though my inspiration images for his big boy bedroom are mostly wooden beds, I couldn’t pass this one up! I think it will still work great, and can take it many different directions in terms of styling his room.

You can never have too many baskets, IMO.

I got this large antique American basket.

These little fruit bowls came home with us too.

As did this metal basket. I envision a plant in it on one of our porches someday soon.

For $8.50, I grabbed this little cloth and wood holder. Seems like maybe it’s meant for sewing supplies, but I think I’ll put some magazines in it.

I couldn’t resist this crusty handmade terracotta pot for just $1!

Charlotte bought this antique perforated paper needlework. She also got a bunny figurine for the garden and a small old wooden crate.
Here are some things we didn’t buy, but really liked:

This wall shelf was sweet. Could see it in a bathroom, mudroom, or kitchen!

I really liked this old Dutch pine wall mount plate rack. It is huge, though. Would really need a large kitchen or dining room to accommodate it.
Similar shelves I found with a quick search:
I could see it in a kitchen, or bakery, like this:

I may soon regret not buying these antique chairs! They were lovely. And the price, even better.
We found some good stuff and had fun hunting together!
Jack did so good at his hair appointment yesterday afternoon. She even used the electric clippers and he sat still and didn’t cry! Big boy.
Have a good weekend!
