Lost in My Own House

Drywall is up! And admittedly I’m a little lost… 🙂

The house looks so different with the walls covered.

When Blaine sent me the latest progress photos,  I had to sit and study each one for a good 30 seconds to get my bearings and realize what room I was looking at.

So, to make the viewing a little easier to understand, I’ve created a few slideshows from similar vantage points throughout the house over time.

As seen below, we eliminated two east facing windows in the den, but kept its original floor plan and the 4 large north facing windows.

My uncle Preston’s room (the North bedroom) has the same footprint as before.

The master bedroom also has kept its original footprint.

Below, we turned mom’s old bedroom in a master closet and en-suite bathroom.

The guest bath upstairs has a slightly different footprint, as the tub now sits inset into the wall.  (We’re reusing the old tub.)

The upstairs hall will have wall sconces throughout one day soon. After finishing the drywall and painting, we’re planning to put the heat register back where its always been.

The East bedroom looks almost exactly the same as before, except for the addition of a new walk-in closet on the south wall.

I hope you enjoyed the tour; come back soon for finished drywall!

Until next time,

Miranda

Were you able to find a local contractor who could do the “modern plaster” you mentioned in an earlier post?
