December Progress

Merry Christmas!
I was lucky enough to spend Christmas in southern Illinois with friends and family, but unfortunately Blaine was called out to a rig and couldn’t come with me.

December has been a slow month for house progress, but I’ll share with you what little progress we’ve made.

Earlier this month, Blaine started walling up the showers with cement board.

Each bathing area will have a water-safe dimmable light in the ceiling.

And the two showers will have benches.

Blaine is making little cubbies in the bathing area walls. They will each have a niche to hold shampoo, soap and other accessories.  I think they will be handy to have and hopefully not too much trouble to clean!

In the upstairs guest bath, we’re planning to keep the old cast iron tub. My inspiration for this tub/shower is Miss Mustard Seed’s master bath.  I like the way she enclosed her old tub with marble tile, hid the curtain rod behind casing, and used dual curtains.

In the master bath, we’re adding a half-wall to hide the toilet.

The master shower is bigger than the one downstairs.

That’s all the progress inside for now!
On the outside, we’re still chipping away at the siding installation.

And for Christmas, we received the sweetest gift to put at the end of the drive.
